At CNM, we believe that the Democratic Party needs to frame the debate over America's future. Too often, Democratic leaders advocate the right policies but fail to articulate the values that support their thinking. We can do better. Democrats need to speak in terms of the values that unite the party -- values that most Americans share. The Democratic Party is the party of responsibility. As Democrats, we recognize that government must act when markets fail, when discrimination persists, or when lack of infrastructure holds back our economic growth. Over the last century, this sense of responsibility helped us meet all our citizens' basic needs even as we created a business-friendly environment. It also compelled us to act when fascism, communism, or terrorism threatened our safety. CNM supports candidates who embrace and promote this message.
